The proposed building is a landmark office development on the prominent portal site at the entrance to the established Caldecotte business park in Southern Milton Keynes.
The office accommodation is arranged on 3 main levels is around 2 courtyards, with single aspect offices on the south side (against the car park structure) and the main cores, services, meeting rooms and breakout areas on the north side with a linear internal street accommodated with a glazed atrium that forms the main frontage to Caldecotte Lake Drive.
The focal north facade of the building houses an ‘atrium’ orientated to Caldecotte Lake Drive and is expressed as a double glazed full height curtain wall set back behind a colonnade that supports a generously over-sailing roof with timber slatted soffit. This will enable the corporate image and internal activities at ground level to be expressed. Within the ‘atrium’ the upper floor galleries are further set-back, with solid timber veneered balustrading and meeting rooms facing south over the green roof and towards the Brickhill woods.
The development is designed to achieve BREEAM ‘excellent’ sustainability standards.
